Toronto jewellery design duo Alynne Lavigne and Eve Tobolka met eight years ago at a house party when Lavigne was studying photography at OCAD University and Tobolka was enrolled in journalism at Ryerson. They became insta-friends became roommates became inseparable: thrifting jewellery together by day, flitting to coat-check-girl jobs by night. They realized their hobby could be a living when the well-curated mecca 69 Vintage gave them their own display case from which to sell their finds. “I made some really gross reworked jewellery,” says Lavigne. “It was cool at the time!” Tobolka counters: “People bought it.” - Flare Magazine interiew with Alynne Lavigne and Eve Tobolka.
